Dysfunction and More

Hello everyone. Tonight we have the Dysfunctional Family Jazz Band at Sunny's, while Will Scott and Wylie Wirth will be at Two Boots in Park Slope.

Saturday, the Brooklyn Folk and Bluegrass Festival out in Greenpoint features Good Greasy & Baked, Kings County Strings, Hectograss and more. Meanwhile, Jamie Lyn hosts her Honky Tonk Angels show at Hank's, featuring Hilary Hawke, Serena Jean, Jessica Rose and the High Life, Cat Wagon (Melody Berger, Zara Bode and Tom Bailey) and of course her own Red Tail Hawk Band.

Monday is Michael Dave's monthly jam at the Parkside, and all the other jams and brunches are happening as usual.

Better Late Than Never

Hello everyone. Sorry the newsletter is a bit late this week, but it's
in time to let you know that tonight the Bluegreens play at Sunny's,
while tomorrow is of course the jam.

Also tomorrow, the Wicked Messengers play at Banjo Jim's at 7, and you
have great bluegrass for brunch at Nolita House on both Saturday and
Sunday as usual.

On Monday, Kings County Strings plays the Parkside followed by Blue
Harvest, while at BB King's Not-Usually-Blues Club, a bunch of NYC
country musicians including Jack Grace, Alex Battles and Li'l Mo
recreate the music of Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and
Loretta Lynn with a band including quite a few of our friends.

Alan Friend and Jen Larson are featured at Jalopy's Roots and Ruckus
this Wednesday night singing old-time, country and bluegrass harmony,
and Smokey Hormel is at Sunny's.

So far as I know all the usual jams are happening. Stay warm!
